Brough Johnson the Co-founder and co-CEO of Narrative Muse grew up watching television which was the only thing she was allowed to do on weekends but most of the time she spent with her friends. She completed her graduation of BA in Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Brough started her career as an editor at Power Rangers-Megaforce and continued the same at the New Zealand Film Commission for a funded short film. Later she worked as an editor for Westside -TV3 and Step Dave -TV2 at South Pacific Pictures Ltd. She also worked as a guest lecturer at the Unitec Institute of Technology, South Seas Film & Television School, and SAE Institute. She used to attend workshops and taught framing techniques and camera usage which led to her passion. She was also a speaker at Women in Film & Television New Zealand, Mum’s Garage, etc.
Before starting Narrative Muse, Brough had around 11 years of experience as an editor. Brough was inspired to start this business when she realized that there was a huge lack of content for women audiences. Brough shares that gender equity and inclusion must be established and “has to happen” because “women aren’t recognized as equals in all forms of society.” She is passionate about making an impact on the world by adding value every day through her experiences.
